An Event List Widget is a browser-source overlay that displays a running list of recent stream events. Unlike a single alert, which appears briefly and leaves the screen, the list gives viewers a persistent record of the latest community activity.

• List length: show between one and ten recent items.

• Icons: show or hide the event icons.

• Timing: choose whether older entries fade after a set period.

• Design: customize card, icon, text, value, border, and opacity settings.

How to Add the Event List to OBS Studio

Follow these steps to set it up:

1. Open the StreamSpell Widgets Hub and connect the provider you want to use.

2. Create or open an Event List Widget.

3. Choose the providers, card style, list order, maximum items, icons, colors, and fade behavior.

4. Use the test-event controls to make sure long names and values remain readable.

5. Save the widget and select Copy URL.

6. In OBS Studio, add a new Browser source to the scene and paste the copied URL.

7. Resize and position the source, then run another test from the editor to confirm it appears correctly in OBS.

Using the Event List in Streamlabs or StreamElements

The Event List uses the same browser-source approach as other StreamSpell widgets. Add a browser or web source in your streaming tool, paste the saved widget URL, and size the source for your overlay layout. Keep that URL private.

Best Places to Use an Event List

Good placements include:

• Side panels: keep recent support visible beside gameplay or a webcam frame.

• Starting and ending scenes: recognize recent activity while viewers arrive or while you wrap up.

• Community and charity streams: maintain a visible record of momentum between larger alerts.

• Minimal layouts: use a compact list with fewer items when the overlay should stay quiet.

Event List vs. Stream Alerts

Alerts and event lists solve different problems. An alert creates a moment: it uses motion, sound, or a prominent visual to celebrate one event. An event list creates continuity: it keeps several recent events visible after the celebration ends.

You can use both in the same scene. Keep the alert large enough to feel special, then let the Event List preserve the latest names in a smaller, consistent area.

Requirements and Useful Checks

Connect Twitch and/or YouTube before expecting live provider events. Use test events to validate the design, but remember that a test confirms the visual path, not the availability of every live event from every provider. Before going live, save the widget, confirm the browser source is visible, and check that your provider filters match the accounts you connected.
