Got streamer slang we didn’t cover? Drop a comment or slide into our socials and let us know. Questions about a definition? Shout it out! We’ll tweak, expand, and keep this guide fresh so nobody gets left in the “sus” zone again.
Happy reading—and may all your streams be W’s!
“AFK” = Away From Keyboard. It’s gamer code for “brb.” In ranked matches, staying AFK can tank LP and team morale. On stream, it’s polite to hit a Be-Right-Back screen—preferably with a countdown—so viewers know you didn’t crash.
The feel-good opposite of nerf: boosting the weak instead of punishing the strong. Fans rally around underpowered heroes—“Give archers some love!” Run buff polls during stream for endless engagement and content ideas.
High-stakes win when everything’s on the line. 1v4, no health, match point—and still pulled off the W. Chat explodes with “CLUTCH!” Bonus: Add heartbeat sound and slow cam zoom to dramatize it.
A mash-up of "cope" and "opium"—used when someone’s coping hard after a loss. Usually paired with Pepe and an oxygen mask. “Bad RNG, controller drift, Mercury in retrograde—pass the copium.”
Short for “difference.” Saying “Jett diff” or “Streamer diff” means someone dominated. It’s a humblebrag or roast depending on tone. Flash your scoreboard and let the stats speak.
“Press F to pay respects.” From Call of Duty. Now used for anything unlucky or tragic mid-stream. PC crash? Pet ruins your PB? Just F. It’s short, universal, and oddly comforting.
“Good Game.” The default end-of-match handshake. Type it win or lose, and you’re golden. Add “WP” (well played) for bonus points. On stream, chat spams GG after boss fights or epic collabs.
Triggered when subs/gifts/bits pour in quickly. Levels up, emotes unlock, chat goes wild. Twitch coined it, Kick copied it, and even platforms without it still yell “CHOO-CHOO.” Use a train overlay that stacks cars as you go.
The sound of uncontrollable laughter. Features Spanish comedian El Risitas mid-wheeze. Used for whiffs, puns, and peak scuffed moments. Want viral clips? Auto-trigger a laughing GIF when KEKW hits the feed.
Twitch’s built-in sarcasm emoji. Drop a Kappa after a sentence and it’s instantly “just kidding.” The grayscale face is a dev’s selfie from 2011, but the meaning hasn’t changed. Use it for banter, bait, or stream irony.
Twitch’s big laugh emoji. Based on TotalBiscuit mid-chuckle. Use LUL when something is hilarious, whacky, or just dumb. PG, wholesome, and ultra-clippable when paired with a laugh track.
“Most Effective Tactic Available.” The strategy everyone’s abusing. Metas shift with every patch, so covering them early on stream is key to growing authority.
To tone down something overpowered. Comes from those soft Nerf guns. Viewers love to rant about upcoming nerfs, so running patch note watch parties is instant engagement.
Short for “Overpowered.” Used for broken items, meta comps, or busted ultimates. Drop this in your content titles and you’ll catch that juicy search wave.
When you end your stream by sending your viewers to another streamer. Great for networking, discoverability, and good vibes. Build a fun raid chant and you’ll become a legend.
Means charisma. Originated on TikTok, now used everywhere. “That NPC fell for your dialogue option? You’ve got rizz.” Perfect for dating sims, Just Chatting, and flirty co-op chaos. Bonus: Add a !rizz command or Rizz Leaderboard.
A stream that extends with each sub/donation. Could last hours or weeks. Use stretch goals (hot sauce at 50 subs) and a live timer overlay to make it interactive. Keep a sleep cam ready if you dare.
Short for “suspicious.” Comes from Among Us. Use when something shady happens: “You muted right before the shiny spawned? Sus.” Add a red visual effect for extra drama.
That slippery slope of playing worse because you're already tilted. Pro tip: add a “Tilt Break” scene so you can hydrate and not rage quit on stream. It’s also a great signal to your community that you care about mental health.
The opposite of L. W = Win. Used to celebrate everything from aces to donos. Add fireworks on screen when chat W spam hits a threshold—it turns little wins into legendary ones.
