Dune Awakening, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Single Player, Stream Overlays
Arrakis has room for a new kind of journey. Dune: Awakening’s September update added solo play, more ways to tune the survival challenge, and the conclusion to its Book One story. The standard PS5 and Xbox release follows on September 22.
Dune: Awakening’s standard PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S release is September 22, 2026. Deluxe and Ultimate Edition owners received early access on September 17.
Update 1.5 launched on September 17, bringing single-player mode and the Book One finale to all platforms. The standard console launch follows on September 22.

The single-player mode is more than a disconnected offline option. Funcom says systems such as the Landsraad have been adapted so simulated rivals can compete for objectives, keeping the larger political structure meaningful when no other players are present.
Performance and console features
On PS5 and PS5 Pro, Dune: Awakening offers a 60fps Performance Mode and a 30fps Quality Mode with dynamic 4K output. Its interface and controls have also been adapted for consoles.
Cross-play between PlayStation, Xbox, and PC will not be available at console launch. Xbox and the Microsoft Store version are the exception, with shared progression and cross-play inside that ecosystem. Funcom says broader cross-play is planned for a later update.
More control over Arrakis
Single-player, self-hosted, and eligible private servers can use a wider set of options. Players can adjust resource rates, experience gains, building limits, durability, base decay, item drops, security zones, sandstorms, the sandworm, and other systems.
That flexibility should be useful for creators. A story-focused series can reduce repetitive gathering, while a survival challenge can keep the harsher settings intact. Be transparent about custom settings so viewers understand the rules of the run.
